First thing most people ask me is, “why do you call yourself Coach?” Probably because I always thought I’d be a coach, since my father was a basketball coach in Idaho his whole life AND my little brother is a basketball coach for the Utes. It never happened because I fell in love with radio. Although one time, I did coach a girls city-rec team…we lost every game. Besides, coaches get fired all the time and they have to yell at their players. I don’t like to yell at people. I love to entertain and not just because of my personality, but because I am in the music business. And there is no better entertainment than music. Music drives the soul. I LOVE EVERY SONG WE PLAY! So what makes me tick? Watching my brother coach hoops, playing golf, fly fishing, classic cars and waiting for Frank or Meredith to get sick or go on vacation so I can go on-air. 5 great kids and a cool wife who puts up with my wise-cracks and doesn’t get mad when I call her my “current” wife. 30 years in radio and ready for 30 more…unless the Jazz need a good shooting guard.
