During my radio career, I've played my fair share of pranks on people. I've never done anything hurtful, just some innocent fun. Every time I've done it, I've asked myself the question, "What are some of the possible outcomes and would they be harmful to anyone involved."
These Australian DJs did the same thing. Part of their job is to entertain and, let's face it, people love pranks. Unfortunately, this one had a completely unforeseeable outcome.
I'm sad for the woman and her family and equally sad for the DJs that were involved. I can speak from personal experience that they never intended to have this happen. Indeed, there was no way they could have even anticipated this would be the outcome.
I can personally relate to how they must feel right now, wondering if they were the cause, making justifications to remove some of the guilt they must feel.
Sad story for everyone involved.
