I can’t quite wrap my head around this whole Manti Te’o thing.

Last fall, word spread pretty quickly that Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o’s girlfriend had died of leukemia. It was a very emotional and inspirational story at the time. But as it turns out, the whole thing was faked and the woman never existed.

Te’o says he developed an emotional online relationship with a woman.  He learned of her death in the fall, and then received a phone call the day after Christmas telling him that she was NOT dead. Notre Dame says Te'o was the victim of an elaborate, sophisticated hoax. And no one knows what the motive was. Some think Te’o was involved in the whole thing.
