Grammy Nominations are out, and here are some names you’ll know that are up for awards:

Bruce Springsteen is up for 2 awards for Best Rock Song: "We Take Care of Our Own", and the album it comes from for Best Rock Album:"Wrecking Ball"

The U2 documentary “From The Sky Down” about the making of their classic CD “Achtung Baby” is up for Best Long Form Video.

Bonnie Raitt is up for Best Americana Album (still trying to wrap my head around that category) for “Slipstream” that had a killer reggae remake of Gerry Raffery’s “Right Down The Line” on it.

Paul McCartney continues to put forth very impressive re-issues of his older albums with tons of extra material and notes. This year it was “Ram” which s up for Best Historical Album as “Ram Archive Collection (Deluxe Edition)”

George Harrison’s Indian music mentor Ravi Shankar is nominated for Best World Music Album for “The Living Room Sessions” at the 92 years young.

New Orleans jazz/pop/blues legend Dr. John’s “Locked Down” gets the nod for Best Blues Album

And Jimmy Cliff was back after an 8-tear absence with a new disc “Rebirth” and of course it’s nominated for Best Reggae Album, how could it NOT be?
