(Georgia) – 86-year-old Johnny visited the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home when he was 18. A child ran up to him begging to be adopted. Johnny knew he wasn’t ready to adopt a child so he decided to help these kids out by donating money. Since Johnny didn’t have a lot of money of his own he started collecting paper and aluminum products and cashing them in for money.
Johnny has donated more than $400,000! Johnny first started collecting all of those paper products on his own, but now that people know about his efforts they drop stuff off at his house.
Johnny also collects pennies to donate. He has collected 24 miles worth of pennies (84,480 pennies = 1 mile).
